The subject of this book sheds light on certain outdated traditional doctrines imposed on widows, women who in every home double as wives and mothers in our different families. Specifically, this book dissects the effects of harmful traditional practices meted out to widows at their most vulnerable moments. Rather than offer succour and support, widows become objects of abuse, and in many instances are subjected to inhumane treatments and violence by family members of their deceased husbands. Importantly, this message is meant for the entire womanhood. As our girls and teenagers blossom, they become most vulnerable to sexual abuse and violence in our different communities. Hence, our daughters need to be educated and informed on these issues in order to prevent the risks of being deformed by the custodians of blind traditions. The book encourages and counsels widows on maintaining dignity and a sound mind in coming to terms with the loss of their husbands. It reinforces the timeless truth of God’s unshaken love and care.
